Perhaps unsurprisingly, Christopher Nolan emerges as a prime candidate. I’ve set 10 movies as the minimum criteria.

There are a couple of reasons for Nolan’s success:

  • He has made ‘only’ 10 movies over the last 20 years; doing just enough to qualify but it is a relatively small career nonetheless.
  • He generally makes commercially driven movies; particularly after Batman Begins.

All of his movies have turned in a profit and as a cherry on top; his 10 movies have all been well received critically .
